Founded in 1906, the American Jewish Committee seeks to protect the rights of Jews throughout the world; combats anti-Semitism and bigotry; works for the security of Israel; enhances human rights, democratic pluralism and inter-group understanding; and promotes the creative vitality of the Jewish people.

More than one hundred years later, the Washington Regional Office seeks to enact AJC's mission in the Washington area by building ties to local ethnic and minority groups, working with the diplomatic community, advocating on AJC's public policy agenda, and fostering Jewish unity.  We work to advance liberty, tolerance, and mutual respect through innovative programs, education, research, media outreach, and diplomacy.

As AJC celebrates its Centennial, the Washington Regional Office remains even more deeply committed to these cherished values in the hope of building a better future for us all.
